Overview

The least chub is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Leuciscidae, the shiners, daces and minnows. It is the only member of the monospecific genus Iotichthys. This species is found only in Utah and more recently in Idaho in the United States. Due to habitat degradation and introduction of non-native fishes, it is currently limited to a few spring complexes in Utah and the Snake River Valley in Idaho.
